But here I am speaking of happenings in a broad sense &#8212; to <i>behold</i> and <i>react</i>, is where I am concerned a happening; speculations, unaccountable stirs of interest, longings, attractions, apprehensions without knowable cause &#8212; these are happenings, also.</p>
